FAQs

Do I need an ID?

We require a VALID (in date) photo ID for ANYONE getting a piercing with us. 8 years old or 80 years old, everyone needs to have a valid photo ID. We only accept in date passports, driving licences, EU ID cards or Citizen Cards. We cannot accept photos or copies of your ID.

Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian (this does NOT include siblings, grandparents, aunties, uncles or cousins). We may ask for proof of legal guardianship at the appointment if you are not a parent.

If you do not have your ID with you or it is out of date at the time of the appointment, you will be liable to pay for 100% of the services booked.

NO ID? NO PIERCING!

If you need an ID fast, you can order a Citizenscard HERE. These are great for our younger clients!

What are your age restrictions?

Due to the nature of what we do and our insurance policies, we have age restrictions on our piercings.

Lobe piercings are ages 8 and above only. Parent or legal guardian must be present.

Any other ear or nose piercings are 13 and above with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. We also ask that schools and sixth forms are okay with piercings. Most piercings cannot be removed or changed for at least 6 months (piercing location dependant).

Navel Piercings are for 16 and above. This is due to the anatomy not being fully developed yet. Parent or legal guardian presence is required.

Any other facial piercings (eyebrow and lip) are also 16 and above with parent or legal guardian present.

Nipple piercings are 18 and above only.

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?

As we are a small shop, we ask that you only bring ONE person in with you (so choose wisely!). This is for the safety of our team and atmosphere for our other clients. We only allow the person having the piercing into the piercing room for hygiene reasons. There is a chair outside the piercing room for your chosen person to sit and watch if they like! If more than one person arrives with you, they may be asked to wait outside.

How much does a piercing hurt?

Everyone is completely different when dealing with pain! Each piercing can come with a little discomfort depending on which piercing you are getting. What we can promise you is that the discomfort is over very quickly and you’ll have a beautiful new piercing.

How long do I have to wait until I can go swimming?

We ask you wait 4 to 6 weeks before swimming with a fresh piercing. This includes the sea, hot tubs, jacuzzi, lakes and rivers. There is a high risk of infection and we cannot take any liability of you choose to swim during this time. Please be mindful when booking your appointment if you are planning a holiday or swim regularly.

Do you use numbing cream?

We do not use numbing for any piercings. It may seem like a great idea but in fact, it can cause many problems! Numbing creams can make the skin ‘squint’, making the healing of the piercing difficult and can make it heal incorrectly. The ingredients are not designed to go into piercings and can cause serious harm. Numbing cream only numbs the first few layers of the skin, that’s why it is used in the tattoo industry. If you arrive to your appointment with numbing cream on the piercing site, you will be turned away and charged a fee.

Do you use a gun or a needle?

We only use needles here at LNO. Guns are designed to pierce the skin with the jewellery which can cause trauma to the area. They also cannot be completely free of bloodborne pathogens as guns are not able to be sterilised like single-use needles. We prefer you to have the best quality and a nice healing piercing!

Do you do genital piercings?

We do not offer genital piercings, genital jewellery changes or jewellery removals.

This is at the discretion of all our piercers as individuals. We are more than happy to recommend another piercer who’d be able to provide you with the services required.

Do I need an appointment?

If you do not show up to your appointment you will be charged 100% of your services fee. You are welcome to reschedule your appointment free of charge before the 24 hour window.

We are happy to reschedule your appointment or cancel if you cannot make it to your appointment. You can do this yourself via your confirmation email or through the Fresha app. If you are having issues with this, you can contact us. Please note that if you cancel by sending us a message, we may not pick this up in time for your appointment if cancelling within 24 hours. Please contact us via text or WhatsApp on 07902192115. How can I prepare for an appointment?

We ask that you arrive on time to ensure we are able to provide you with a full service. You may be asked to wait outside if you arrive too early to your appointment.

Drink plenty of water and eat at least 4 hours before your appointment. It is vital you do not arrive intoxicated as we will turn you away and charge you a fee.

You will be sent a form before your appointment. We ask you read this in full and fill in the correct details. If you are filling the form out for your child, please ensure it contains their own full name and date of birth and not your own.

Can I bring my own jewellery?

We only fit jewellery purchased from ourselves. We sterilise every piece of jewellery and ensure it is of the highest quality before placing into your piercing.

If you have jewellery from ourselves that you wish to use, we ask you bring it to us at least 48 hours before your appointment so we can sterilise it in time.

Can I get a piercing whilst pregnant or breast feeding?

We do not offer piercings whilst you may be pregnant or breastfeeding. This is due to the risk of infection, although it is uncommon. We ask you wait at least 3 months after birth, breastfeeding or any pregnancy to allow your hormones to stabilise.
